Exposed-Fastener Corrugated
AMP 2.67 x 5 Corrugated Wall Panel: Exposed-Fastener Metal Wall Panel for Texas Buildings
The AMP 2.67 x 5 corrugated wall panel is the working-class member of our wall panel line: a classic wavy corrugation in 22 or 24 gauge, fastened with color-matched washer-head screws, for buildings that need to be tough and affordable. Architectural Metal Panels forms it in Forney and installs it on shops, barns, screen walls and modern homes across Dallas-Fort Worth.

What Do the Numbers in the Name Mean?
The profile is 2.67 inches from crest to crest with a nominal half-inch depth; the AMP data lists it as 2.67 inch by .5 inch. That is the traditional corrugated sheet most people picture, scaled for wall use and roll-formed in heavier gauges than the 29-gauge sheet sold at farm stores.
| Specification | AMP 2.67 x 5 |
|---|---|
| Profile | Sinusoidal corrugation, 2.67-inch pitch, nominal 1/2-inch depth |
| Net coverage | Typically 32 to 34.67 inches from a 36-inch sheet, depending on side lap; confirmed on your spec sheet |
| Gauge options | 22 and 24 gauge |
| Substrate | Galvalume steel (AZ50 under the paint); bare Galvalume (AZ55) on request |
| Finishes | Kynar 500 PVDF or SMP; bare Galvalume for an industrial look |
| Fastening | Exposed, color-matched washer-head screws through the panel into girts, furring or sheathing |
| Orientation | Vertical is standard; horizontal with suitable furring |
| Applications | Shops, barns, equipment sheds, screen walls, fences, accent walls and ceilings on modern homes, back-of-house commercial walls |
| Lengths | Cut to length in our Forney shop; typically up to about 40 feet |
| Wind and load ratings | Engineering data on request |
Who Uses the 2.67 x 5 Panel in Dallas-Fort Worth?
Owners who want metal that lasts without paying for hidden fasteners. The 2.67 x 5 goes on farm and ranch buildings, shop walls, dumpster enclosures and screen walls, and on modern homes where the classic corrugated look is the design.
Agricultural and shop buildings
Barns, hay sheds and equipment sheds in Kaufman, Hunt and Ellis counties lean on this panel because it goes up fast over open girts, tolerates knocks from equipment, and a damaged sheet is easy to swap.
Residential and barndominium
Architects use the half-inch corrugation on gables, porch ceilings and privacy walls because the wave pattern is small enough to read as texture on a house. In 24 gauge with a Kynar finish it looks intentional, not agricultural.
Commercial back-of-house
Loading docks, mechanical screens and the sides of a building nobody photographs are where the 2.67 x 5 saves money that can go into the front elevation.
How Is an Exposed-Fastener Corrugated Wall Installed?
With the panel screwed through its flats into solid backing, laps sealed where weather hits them, and trims at every edge. The details are simple, which is why the installed price stays low, but the screw pattern still has to be right.
- Substrate: steel girts on a metal building, wood girts or sheathing on a framed wall, or furring over masonry.
- Weather barrier: a weather-resistive barrier over sheathing on any conditioned building; on an open shed it is optional.
- Furring: only needed when the panels run horizontally or when the wall needs a drainage gap behind the sheet.
- Fastening: screws through the panel into the backing at the spacing the engineering calls for, driven snug so the washer seals without crushing.
- Trims: base, corner, jamb and head trims from our custom sheet metal shop, with foam closures matching the corrugation at the top and bottom.
22 or 24 gauge?
24 gauge is the standard and handles most walls. Step up to 22 gauge where the wall takes abuse at ground level: livestock pens, equipment bays, loading areas and any wall a trailer might back into.
What About Texas Hail, Sun and Screw Washers?
Steel does not crack in hail, and a vertical wall takes hail at a shallow angle, so dents are rare. The real maintenance item on any exposed-fastener wall is the rubber washer under each screw. Texas UV and heat cycling age the washers, so plan to check fasteners every few years and expect a round of replacements at around 10 to 15 years.
Choose the finish for the exposure. On a shaded north wall or in a light color, SMP paint typically holds up well. On a dark color facing the afternoon sun, Kynar 500 PVDF keeps its color far longer; see our Kynar 500 vs SMP comparison.
Thermal movement is a smaller concern on walls than on roofs, but long vertical panels pinned at every screw can elongate their holes over decades of 100-degree summers and hard freezes. We keep panel lengths practical and use a slightly larger screw where a hole has stretched on a repair.
How Does It Compare with the 2.67 x .875 and the Wave 16-4?
The 2.67 x .875 is the same pitch at nearly twice the depth, for industrial walls that need more span and stiffness. The Wave 16-4 is the concealed-fastener upgrade for a front elevation. The 2.67 x 5 sits below both on price and on visual weight.
| Factor | 2.67 x 5 | 2.67 x .875 | Wave 16-4 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Depth | 1/2 in | 7/8 in | 7/8 in |
| Fasteners | Exposed | Exposed | Concealed |
| Gauge | 22, 24 | Typically 22, 24, 26 | Typically 24, 22 |
| Best for | Economy walls, screen walls, modern accents | Industrial walls, longer girt spans | Facades and homes where screws must not show |

Pricing, Lead Time and Ordering
Exposed-fastener corrugated is typically the lowest-cost metal wall panel we install per square foot, and 24 gauge in a stock SMP or Kynar color is normally available within a few weeks. We quote after measuring or from plans, and the written estimate lists panels, trims, fasteners, closures and labor separately so an owner-builder can compare materials-only against full installation.
Contractors can request a spec sheet and submittal package through our free price quote form. If the same building needs a roof, our commercial metal roofing page covers R-panel and standing seam options. Our owner brings 26+ years of metal roofing and cladding experience to every job.

What Dallas-Fort Worth Homeowners Say About Architectural Metal Panels
2.67 x 5 Corrugated Panel Questions
Is the AMP 2.67 x 5 the same as the corrugated sheet at a farm store?
Same profile family, heavier gauge. Farm-store sheet is typically 29 gauge; the AMP 2.67 x 5 comes in 22 or 24 gauge with a Kynar 500 or SMP finish and is cut to length for the wall.
Can the 2.67 x 5 panels run horizontally?
Yes, with vertical furring behind them and lapped end joints detailed to shed water. Vertical is the standard orientation.
Will the exposed screws rust or leak?
Color-matched screws with sealing washers are rated for exterior use. The washers age in Texas sun, so plan a fastener check every few years and a replacement round at roughly 10 to 15 years.
Can I buy the panels and install them myself?
Yes. We sell materials packages with panels, trims, closures and fasteners, cut to your lengths, and we can supply install-only labor if you already have material.
Does the 2.67 x 5 work as a roof panel?
On a wall it is a reliable choice. For roofs we steer customers to the deeper 7.2 Rib, PBR or a standing seam panel, which handle water and spans better; see our corrugated metal panel roofing page.
