Lake Dallas Metal Roofs, Fascia and Gutters Done Right

Lake Dallas is one of Denton County’s four Lake Cities, along with Corinth, Hickory Creek and Shady Shores, and its homes are among the area’s most established: brick and frame houses on lake-area lots, many on their second or third roof. Architectural Metal Panels serves this city of about 7,900 with metal roofing, Class 4 metal shingles, soffit and fascia replacement, seamless gutters, siding and sheet metal, from Old Town to Willow Grove and Lakeview. We start with the deck and trim, because that’s where older homes usually hide their problems.

What Lake Dallas Homes Need From Their Exterior

Most Lake Dallas homes were built from the 1960s through the 1990s: single-story brick and frame houses with simple roofs, wood fascia and modest overhangs. Many roofs are second- or third-generation composition, and some went on over an earlier layer, which hides soft decking and adds weight. Lake humidity and mature trees keep shaded eaves damp, so fascia and soffit rot is common, especially behind overflowing gutters. There’s scattered 2010s infill with newer roofs. For the older homes, a full tear-off, deck repair and a lightweight metal roof is a sound path, with new fascia and seamless gutters installed in the same project.

We serve Lake Dallas homeowners in Old Town, Willow Grove, Lakeview and the Garza Little Elm Park area, along I-35E and Swisher Road, and near the Lewisville Lake shoreline.

How Lake Dallas Weather Treats a Roof

Quarter-size hail fell in Lake Dallas on June 8, 2025, and the city was inside the March 14, 2024 storm that dropped 2-inch hail next door in Hickory Creek. On older homes with aging composition roofs, even quarter-size hail can loosen granules and crack brittle tabs. We recommend roofing rated Class 4 under UL 2218 for long-term protection and to open the door to any impact-resistant credit your insurer offers. Wind off the lake adds stress at the eaves, so we check drip edge and the first course of roofing after storms.

  • Class 4 (UL 2218) impact-rated roofing options, with the certificate your insurer asks for
  • Free post-storm inspections with dated photos and measurements
  • Adjuster meetings on site so the claim scope is complete

Exterior Services We Provide in Lake Dallas

Soffit and fascia replacement is a leading need in Lake Dallas, because decades of overflowing gutters and lake humidity have softened the trim on many older homes. Roof replacement follows, often with a tear-off of more than one layer. Seamless gutters with correct pitch and guards for leafy lots finish the job, and seamless steel siding is another common upgrade.

Metal Roofing

Concealed-fastener standing seam, metal shingles and stone-coated steel, available with UL 2218 Class 4 ratings that many Texas insurers recognize.

Metal Wall Panels

Aluminum composite (ACM) and corrugated metal wall panels for storefronts, shops and modern homes in Lake Dallas, fabricated and installed by our own crews.

Siding

Seamless steel, fiber cement and vinyl siding for gables and second stories, chosen to resist hail dents and afternoon UV fade.

Seamless Gutters

Gutters formed on site to your home’s exact lengths, with downspouts and extensions placed to protect your slab foundation.

Soffit & Fascia

Fascia repair and replacement, vented soffit panels and aluminum wrap that will not need paint every few summers.

Working With Lake Dallas HOAs and Permit Offices

Lake Dallas neighborhoods are largely HOA-free, which keeps material choices simple: you pick the roof, and the city permit is the main approval. If your street does have deed restrictions or an association, Texas Property Code §202.011 generally protects impact-resistant and energy-efficient roofing that resembles and matches approved roofing. We pull the City of Lake Dallas permit where required and schedule any inspection it calls for.

Lake Dallas Roofing and Exterior FAQs

My Lake Dallas house has two layers of roofing. Can you roof over them?

We don’t recommend it. Extra layers add weight, hide soft decking and hold heat, which shortens the new roof’s life, and many manufacturers expect a full tear-off for their warranty. We remove every layer down to the deck, replace damaged boards and install new underlayment before the new roof goes on.

Is aluminum or wood fascia better near the lake?

Both work when installed correctly. New wood fascia must be primed and painted on all sides, and it will need repainting over time. Aluminum-wrapped fascia over sound wood needs little upkeep and handles humidity well, but the board behind it has to be solid first. We replace rotted boards before wrapping, never over them.

What size gutters fit a single-story Lake Dallas home?

Often 5-inch seamless gutters are enough for a simple single-story roof, but long runs, valleys that dump onto one corner, or heavy tree cover can justify 6-inch. We look at roof area, pitch and where water concentrates, then place downspouts to carry water away from the foundation instead of into the beds.

Do you offer free estimates in Lake Dallas?

Yes. We provide free, no-obligation in-home estimates throughout Lake Dallas and the rest of Denton County. A specialist inspects your roof or exterior, takes measurements and photos, and gives you a written, all-inclusive price, usually during the same visit.
