What gets a quote back fast and fully itemized?

Numbers. A request with lengths, counts and trim dimensions can be priced as sent; one without them starts with a round of questions.

The drawings

Plans, elevations and roof plans in PDF, plus any sections that show the edge details. If your estimator already ran a takeoff, send that too.

The panels

The profile, the gauge and metal, the paint line and color, and each run length with how many panels it needs.

The trim and edges

A drawing or dimensioned section for each trim piece, the linear feet of each, coping widths, and gutter sizes and lengths.

Getting it there

The job-site address or a note that you plan to pick up, the date you need the metal, and who signs off on submittals.

How is the quote laid out?

One line per item, grouped the way the job goes together. You can hand it to a buyer or check it against a takeoff without calling us to explain it.

Section of the quoteWhat each line shows
PanelsProfile, gauge, paint line, color, each run length and its count

Need a budget number before you send anything?

Start from the published materials rates: $9 per square foot of roof for 24-gauge Kynar standing seam, and $8 for the 26-gauge SMP version, as of October 2026.

The pricing page shows what those rates include. For a firm figure, the shop still needs the lengths and the trim list.

What slows a quote down?

  • Run lengths missing from the takeoff, so the panels cannot be counted
  • Trim marked “per detail” with no detail attached
  • A profile that does not suit the roof pitch, such as snap-lock below 3:12
  • No ship-to address and no note about pickup

Questions About the Quote Form

Can you price two gauges or two finishes side by side?

Yes. Ask for an alternate, such as 26-gauge SMP next to 24-gauge Kynar 500, and each one is priced on its own line so you can compare them without a second request.

Do I have to pick a color before I ask for a price?

No. Tell us the paint line, Kynar 500 or SMP, and the color can stay open until you approve the order. Color charts for both lines come with the quote.

How is the ship date decided?

Lead times are fast. The exact date depends on the profile, the color and whether drawings need approval first, and the shop confirms it in writing with the quote, so you know it before you commit.

Can the quote include submittals or shop drawings?

Yes. Note it on the form and say who approves them. The shop prepares the submittal package and drawings when asked, and they show up as their own line on the quote.

Will photos of the building work instead of plans?

Photos help, but the shop needs numbers. Pair them with measured run lengths and trim dimensions, or a sketch with every measurement written on it, and the parts can be priced.
